1. At the Customer field, enter a six-character customer code for the credit memo. If you are uncertain of the customer code, you can enter one or more characters of the customer code and the system will display a Customer window. At this window, you can select the customer code. Within the Customer window, you can also choose to SEARCH. At the Enter Search Characters field, enter one or more characters of a customer code and press Enter. The system will display a secondary Select A Customer window. This window contains all customer codes within the system, based on what you entered for the character search.
2. After selecting the appropriate customer, the customer's balance displays in the Account Balance field. A Select An Option window appears and allows you to EXIT, ADD a new credit memo for this customer, or select from a listing of credit memos previously entered in the system (if any) to view, modify or delete it.
Note: The Sales Rep and Broker fields will only display if commissions are set to Yes in Ledger Options.
Note: Credit memos decrease a customer's balance with a credit to accounts receivable and a debit to the selected account. Credit memos do not affect gross margin reports. Use credit orders to make adjustments to a specific invoice so that it is included on the margin reports.
